I cant seem to find a topic on this (not that it isn't out there, i just cant find it)
it has become quite appeareant to me that some ships move faster than others.
when you hover over a ship, you get the offence, defense and system value. can we get a speed read out?
i swear, i use the dominion, and research the speed increases, yet some ships (federation) still seem to be able to catch me.
that dont seem right.
ALSO, when you research bigger and badder weapons (FOR YOUR ENTIRE FLEET) shouldn't the stats on the ships go up?

ya know, hes got a point, maybye the stats do go up but we should still see the increase through numbers in weapons, but i do like his idea of a number for speed , in fact, i really hope we can get a redone ship interface, where the systems dont just immdeiatly go down, but there effectivness does first.............. and so on

I second the stat's (speed, upgrades) showing up on the ships.
Could we display them as "+12" so that one can see that they are "upgraded"?

Like in Empire Earth... Units that have been upgraded had their origional stats with a "+" and the added stats,

I'm not sure how the tooltip coding of the game works, but isn't that going to mean that each unit is going to have to require a minimum of two additional tooltip variants? I.e Shield + and ++, Weapon + and ++, Dominion speed (if speed is shown as a stat) +, ++ etc etc. Sounds like it might be a fair bit of work, though obviously I don't know much about these things.
I agree that it does make sense to see these increases, but there again they're what? 8% and 8%? Most of the time you will know, as a player, which upgrades you've purchased at any given time. They can be significant overall, but on an individual basis I haven't found, in my playtime, that it will make a given ship superior to another faction's ship if it wasn't already more powerful to begin with. I'm not sure how useful knowing would be, seeing as it's a global change to all your units.
I like the idea of a ship speed indicator though. I would personally welcome that.

A speed readout would probably be nice (maybe when you hold your cursor over the engines or something)
In regard to the Breen speed upgrades... it's 10% the first time and second time, meaning that I guess if you were using a ship like the Breen Cruiser, its maximum speed would now become 120... Hyper Impulse Sabers have a speed of 140. What ships were you talking about in particular?

The speed files are called 100, 110, ect. The actual speed isn't that number, though.

Yup I know Tyler, I just use those numbers because they are much easier to get to and deal with

umm, i dont remember the ships in question exactly, they wernt sabers though. maybe excelsior II's
part of what stemed this was, you would select a group of say 10 ships, tell them to go over to this moon set. (the constructor never seems to make the group). basically, you want to send the consturctor to build mining, and you want him to have fire support. but eveyone gets there at different times.
IS THERE A WAY...
when you select a group of different type ships, to make them only go as fast as the slowest ship in group.
i noticed that when sending a group, a "fast" ship will usually lag behind with a slower ship. whats up with that.

To me I think buggs should be flying all over. Seriously, did anyone watch the show? A Saber isn't even half as fast as those things.

you may use the guard command in order to guard a constructor

I think they do that when they are in the same Fleet, most likely when in formation.

umm, that kind of works, but it looks too funny, like they are all in a net and being dragged at the wrong angle. also, if they see an enemy, they will just stop and leave the constructor unprotected. Kinda like, well guard him till we see something more interesting to do.

in my experience, no. get 2 excelsior I's and a ambasador class, select all 3 and tell them to go somewhere, the excelsiors will get there in 20 seconds, while the ambasador gets there in 2 minutes.

Reply after reading, not after reading the first half...
