Ship Size?

remember how ambitious bridge commander was about having planets be really big when you got close? that just ended up being annoying as it was hard to tell exactly how close you were to a planet after you started entering the atmosphere. realism can only go so far before it doesn't make the game any more fun.

On the other end of the scale, you have Star Trek Online's scale issues. However, their engine doesn't handle space-scale areas at all, so I'm not surprised they took the more abstract view.

EVE-Online's handling of scales is magnificent though. Park a frigate next to a titan...

Of course, the folks at CCP actually know what they're doing. That's the allure.

STO's engine is pretty good, and I found its combat to be more fun than EVE's.

I only say this to point out that each game/developer has its merits.
