Is there any way to pin ( memorize to keyboard) more than 10 groups of 16 ships?
Can we use any other key other 0, 1, 2, ....?

Khmm well if there are any I dont know about them. But I would also like to know that :D
Or even better yet, is there ANY way to increase the max number of ships in a group?

There is no way to increse the number of ships in a fleet without modding the engine. This I know for a fact.

You can increase the max number of fleets by altering the imput.map file I think but don't quote me on this. It maybe that you maybe be able to change the hotkeys for fleets but not the maximum number of fleets.

So one no and one maybe.

since your max number of ships is 16 and you only have room for 16 icons on your selection tray serously doubt your able to increase it over that number.

and if you could it would be really aquard as not all your ships would appear selected as you can only physically select 16 items at a time anyways.

One would presume if you could increase one you'd be able to do the other though me thinks.

i'd like to know if its possible to select 2 or more FLEETS at a time i'e i want fleets 1 and 7 to do a hit n run on the borg miners so i thought could there be a 'fleet icon' instead of seeing all the 16 ships on the display thing just an icon for fleet 1 and fleet 2 and so on

Like shown in Total War? You have tabs at the side that say what fleet's have been assigned and then how many ship's are in that fleet. You click on that tab and then get the selection for all ships in that fleet?

The Armada Engine just doesn't have this kind of flexability, I know the FO team have acomplished some pretty cool things but unless they can do something fancy with the FO launcher i dont think this is possable

I would be possible...If you new what file to look in. There has to be a varaible controling the total number of ships allowed in a fleet. The problem is this finding the file and once you find it making the visual allow for more then 16 ships. Like adding another row to that menu. It wouldn't be required, though, and should finction well enough with out the visual.

i don't know; i think that it would be in the source code and therefore uneditable (legally and therefore for the purposes of this discussion uneditbal :) )

Perhaps......I don't know. I never got in deep with armada. Few weapons mods and ship edits is as far as I got...

other than strictly maps, i don't know a single solitary thing about editing files in armada II, so i'm probably wrong.

i would say no, it's not currently possible to mod the game at this level at this point in time. :omg:

Hang on a second, there is a much simpler way to getting control of more ships then you want...

Earlier when I was playing, I was setting up various strike groups to do resource raids when I did it without thinking...

Escort!

Simple, get say 10 ships to escort one in your 16 ship fleet and the fleet has become 26 ships, simple hmmmmm? this would mean if used correctly, you get get 32 ships (16 escorting one or one escorting one) and obviously 32 times 10 is 320 ships, allowing you control of that many.

Simple but effective :D
