Ship Repair

As an avid Starcraft fan I play the game a fair bit.  One feature in the game for the Terrans is the ability to repair their vehicles and ships.  To that end, when you repair a ship or vehicle it costs resources to do.  Would something like this be doable for Fleet Ops and if so, it would make it more worth while to wait and let your ships repair on their own costing nothing rather than using a repair yard to repair your ships which should cost, say dilithium for shield repair and tritanium for hull and system repair.

no this would break and slow most games, as ships need to keep moving or risk powerful ship and ability combos.

Ships dont live that long anyway, and with the way resources work, you would run out even faster, not to mention ships can take a while to repair.

stick to it as it is now i say. Although mabye add a cost to the newtons repair ability.

I dont like this. This would be terrible for gameplay. You dont allways have the resources to make ships and you might be relying on repair for a last hope of survival.

If anything, the developers are heading in the opposite direction by adding tractor beams to constructors so you can tow ships back to your shipyard.

darn West Coasters tryin to mess up FO.

back in the days of Armada I,  the ships WOULD self repair if left alone long enough,  it wasnt till A2 that they took a hella long time.  but you had tractor beams,  and while they are no longer currently in game,  RUMOR has it, something like that would be in the next patch.

possible to do i think not 100% sure if it is but i cnt see it messing up game play as repair ships were included in 4 out of 6 races in stock and the feds do have them in fo so adding resources to the repair beam why not would stop ppl relying on them a bit and plus the decent uses resources for its shield recharge so i guess it wud be fine u'll just need to get the balance right (and to my knowledge i think yards take resources wen repairing

There is a perfectly logical explination for why repairs don't cost resorces replicators

I mean sure it takes resorces to replecate somthing even if it's an old bana peel but for repares you can use the old broken parts to replicate replacement parts!

What does the coast of anything have to do with squat?
