Ok, I want to know if I'm the pnly person disturbed by this effect. I know it was put in to provide a much higher degree of realism, but when there are many ships that go boom, this makes you almost unable to command your fleet and prioritize targets. I think it should be removed. Anyone else in favor of this?

I do find it kinda hard to target anything when it's shaking...

Target the next ship when the past victim is exploding (before the big explosion), or attack with a fleet and click the the next target when the current one is down to about 1% Hull.

well, durring large fleet battles you can't do this. Let's say 2 large fleets colide and you wanna take out his battleships but you can't target them because your fleet has destroyed his lesser ships and the GUI is shaking like hell.

Shaking GUI by destroying the smaller shjips?

well by small ships I mean cruisers and other stuff like that. By the time the players reach the tech level necessary to build large ships the destroyers will be hardly used

classlabel = "rumbleexplode"

rumbleduration = 5.0
rumblearea = 4000.0
rumblestrength = 20

They are in the explosion files. Every explosion file except Stations and the biggest ships don't have GUI shakes, others are regular explosions.

Maybe having a check box in the options menu to switch screen shaking on and off would be good.

I was thinking of putting in these some map ships. One of them is a Trilithium Smugglers ship. Gonna need a lot of rumble for that. I wonder what happens if I put it up to 50 on strength... :shifty:

Anyway, I'm also going to have NPC cargoships that you could capture. Maybe later on these could come in handy for high speed smuggling of resources... I mis the trading.

Every good toggle option has been removed, I doubt another good one will be put in...

I actually agree with this.  I'll be placing a building or targeting a ship and I'll misclick or what have you.  I accidentally had a fleet destroy one of my own cubes when I was attempting to focus fire on a Tavara once.

Oh yeah, happens all the time. I haven't lost a friggin cube because of it but definitely accidentally destroyed a few smaller ones. Whats more annoying is not being able to select a ship that's about to be destroyed to get it out of there in time because the screen keeps shaking.

As annoying as it is, it does have a certain degree of realisim to it. A defence/ offence is harder to co ordinate in a battle, weather you are as brave as klingons or as stunned by loss of life like federation personel. I have not lost any ships by my own fire... I don't use the attack GUI button, just click. Unless I misunderstood, and you just sent the cube into the enemy fleet. If it's a vote, I'd say keep it.
I usualy only have problems with it in game ending battles with bots though... like 40 ship fleets.
