Romulan names

Are there any plans to sort out the Romulan ship names? No version of Amarda so far has had a prefix before their names, despite the fact that they have them. IRW (Imperial Romulan Warbird) & PWB (Praetorial Warbird).

as we don't like IRW and stuff (and its not official as far as i know) the Romulan shipnames will stay as they are

PWB was on the casulty lists in DS9, IRW was apparently used to refer to the Warbird Khazara in TNG.

these prefixes are for my taste not documented good enough or too inconsistent to use them in fleet operations...

How often do Starfleet say 'USS' or the Klingons say 'IKS'?

You don't use them because they were used only a few times? The Norway Class was only used once and you use that.

good question, i remember that many times in the show starfleet vessels are refered to with a uss prefix. i cannot remember other races refering to their vessels with a prefix. which should be either because alien races don't have that much screentime as humans or it just may be too confusing for the viewer.
i feel that these prefixes given in the show could be designations given by starfleet personel classifying these vessels, not prefixes given by the alien races themselves

Or a translation into English.

The reason for this thread is that it confuses me with Starfleet having USS, Klingons having IKS, but the Romulans getting nothing, almost feels like your insulting them. On a somewhat related topic, wouldn't a mining/cargo ship more likely work for the Federation than Starfleet and be SS instead of USS?

Really? I can understand that, their much more interesting than their Vulcan counterparts.
