Romulan "Area-bombardment" ?
Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

I had this idea a few minutes ago.
A tactical area-bombardment with the quad-cobalt weapon of the serkas-class.
What we need are minimum 4 Serkas-class vessels and the romulan Tavara-Class warbird.
If they are togehter in one formation, the Tavara get a new button for the area bombardment.
It will cost special energy of the Tavara to use it.
The ships can now move while the bombardment.
I think it would be a nice way to destroy a mining out post with one strike. ^^
What do you think?

Like a number of 8472 vessels working together.
I feel i should mention that 4 Serkas and a Tavara already have the firepower to decimate an entire mining outpost almost immediately.
The idea of several vessels powering up a single vessel is interesting.
Anyone remember the Voyager episode "Think Tank" where two Hazari ships engaged. One ship reinforcing the shields of the other while it stayed behind.
The idea has merit, but as i view it not with the proposed vessels.

Yes, something like that. But the Tavara is not powered up by the Serkas. The Tavara is the tactical center. It controls the weapon-system of the Serkas, during the bombardment.

I'm going to assume a charging phase for balance. If the Tavara is the control center and a special would disable its sensors, this would also reset the charging phase?

Could you ask me that in other words? - I have some problems with understanding what you want to know...

If the Tavara is the control center, would the charge period be reset if the sensors of the Tavara are disabled?
Also IMO it would be interesting if the charging ships would sustain damage if they were prevented from firing the combined weapon.

If the Tavaras sersors have been disabled, the area bombardment stops automaticly.
The sensors have to repaired befor you can use it again.

I propose the Simpson Gym Teacher be the mascot for this request.
"I see you like reading, how do you like Bombardment? Bombardment! Bombardment!"
haha,
Area Bombardment! Could be a fun Gym Class game.

Could a single Tavara hit several cloaked enemies at once?
The Area-Bombardment could do that.

So could a nuke, doesnt mean adding its a great idea.
This is pretty much the same as the spcies 8472 special and that was rarely used because it was buggy, difficult to use without being destroyed and the time taken to actually get the ships in formation, charge the weapon then fire you could have just destroyed it the old fasion way anyway.
Anyone who had cloaked ships nearby would have just micro'ed them out of the way, and being able to annilate an entire fleet like that would be OP anyway.

Nothing OP about being able to hit cloaked ships, especially in FO where anything potentialy game-changing is always balanced.
