A simple and straight forward request. Buildable fighters at your stations, Peregrines fighters, Shrikes, some sort of Borg shaped ship, and the BoP escort varient which is a really small BoP with small wings.

Seeing as how you can make fighters, seems like every race should get some like they do in the shows. Some stations such as starbases can build these fighters that will automatically attack any enemys in range of the station. I'm not sure which stations should be able to build these but they should cost around 100 dilithium and 50 tritanium so not to ruin peoples rushing attacks much.

Like I said it also depends on which stations will get them if you put em in, they could be useful for mining station defense. They wont be very powerful though but just to supplement your defense.

i support you on this, i just think that they should make it so that it depends on wich avatar you use?

Well I really think we should have them regardless of avatar, but maybe change the stats, costs or even the types of fighters available?

And it might be wise if we weaken the firepower of scout class vessels in that case, no "overlapping" will be made in that case

Overlapping? All of the fighter classes I chose are not in FO and probably never will be unless someone asks for them. Plus you shouldn't touch the weapons on the scout classes, they are weak enough

why do you want to build fighters on stations. fighters are limited on resources and aren't build to make long distant flights. so what is wrong with carrier vessels as the avalon which already ready for the next beta?

Well I dunno, extra defense when carriers arnt available? A more stable place to launch them then a vunerable carrier? Plus theres alot more room on a big ole station then on a kilometer long ship. Oh by all means keep the carriers, just thought base defense was lacking with only a few stations having defensive weaponry.

sure therefore are the turrets if you want stationary defence. strong for their price but of course not invincible.

lol you don't get it, fighters dont take up base space like turrets do. Really dont see why everyone has to say no to everything I say but it's getting quite irritating. Why is it bad to give other race fighters when they had them in the show? Is this unreasonable?

we don't say 'no' to everything you say.. we state just our opinion about it, there is no need to see a offence against you in every sentence, we are not that nasty :D

in beta2 there are no fighters, as everyone should now. there are some reasons for this: as you may have noticed we try to avoid that 2 ship classes only differ in their model. every ship should have a unique job. fighters - in the way of normal ships - dont bring something new (if you need a small and fast vessel? scouts. If you need a light vessel with firepower? destroyers. if you need base defence? turrets.). Therefore there were no fighters in beta2
Cause many fans on the forum wanted fighters i thought about it and added the first fighters to Fleet Operations: The Avalon Class as a fighter Carrier, which brings a new element in the game, cause these fighters are a unique weapon.
But perhaps there will be a stronger scout which could be used similar to the fighter idea to head for another race, the Ciadan for example

And please don't say i bring everything down you mention. If you post something on a forum there are always people who want to discuss it and where would a discussion be without different opinions.

Well Optec, you would be right if you said no only 3 or 4 times to my requests. For some odd reason almost every race in the star trek universe has fighters and just tryin to add some new strategy in the game. Fine you said no, thats that.

You know, we cannot accept every request someone wants. It is not that your requests are not welcome instead they give us ideas how what we change in future ideas. it is never wrong to request things, but don't expect every idea to be included in fleet operations. we would be terrible stupid if we would ignore requests other people make. We are always open for your recommendations and don't think your requests won't influence the develepment in any way. We have red any single request that was made. many of them gave us new perspectives on how to look at things and how to improve future betas to make it suitable for everybody liking. we even never planned to get fighters in the game, we never wanted the dominion in the game, we never planned to have avatars and whatnot in the game and that's all because of the ideas given by the great community here. so don't think we are pigheaded guys who just want to make their ideas come true. we have made this project public almost a year ago because we wanted to have our idea of fleet operations combined with the ideas of the people who like to play it and that's just what you and we do.

I don't think that you don't care about this, then you wouldn't have talked about it now to optec.
I just wanted to make sure that you know why we react sometimes this way. I don't want that you are disappointed cause you think your ideas are refused but this is wrong.
Just stay calm and friendly talk up.
