Probably the most of u know what i mean. U are fighting vs someone and one of your ships gets damaged, u press "R" to send it to repair. Then u give your fleet a command and because the ship, u wants to repair is still in the fleet (Nr. 1, 2 etc..) it stops his flight to an yard and comes back. Thats impractical... But if u give the command per hand, u can tell your ship to ignore all other commands until its repaired.
So my proposal is, to replace the command "Repair" if u press "R" with the order "Repair and ignore all other commands until u are repaired". That would be realy great!!
What do u think?

shit+r is the keyboard shortcut for priority repair (repair and ignore orders until repaired).
this will ignore any orders you give the ship (direct to the ship or to its entire fleet)
it will accept shift+r a second time to let you order it to do something else.
priority repair isn't guaranteed repair, sadly. if the ship is replaced via a replaceweapon (eg a buff ends) it will forget that it was supposed to be priority repairing. it'll then go to no orders, and will react according to your ship ai settings. if you're lucky it'll just sit still somewhere away from battle until you notice it.

could you rephrase that? not sure what you mean.
at the moment priority repair will stop your orders from being followed. but when a replaceweapon replaces a ship, the ship will forget everything, including that it was doing a priority repair, hence it will just stop until either you give it an order, or it acts due to the ship's ai (eg an enemy ship goes near it, and it fights).

My way of avoiding this problem (with the exception of replaceweapon issues that Myles mentioned) is that once I send a ship for repair, I assign it to a new fleet (usually 9) and then unassign it from the fleet it was in. That way the fleet can be issued orders without effecting the repair order, and it gives you a nice "combat reserve" of repaired ships that you can quickly see and assign out to weakened fleets.

That's what i do, but it's a compromise. But ok, if there is no other solution, i go on with it. Thx for your comments mates!

The other time that a ship can have the Priority Repair command interrupted is if you give it an order when they are just about to enter the repair queue. Of all the niggles I've encountered in many a game it is by far the most aggravating. Damn it, follow my orders!
