Any chance a Remmler-type facility could be added as a repair-exclusive yard? Presumably as a map or avatar unit.
I know it's not the canon use of the only known facility of this design, but stations should be capable of being refitted like a vessel can.
The design looks natural with the ships moving through the centre to repair.

it seems like the array doesnt have enough bits to be a repair dock. it looks kinda like what it does in canon, a simple radiation thingy. which wipes out baryons... but matter is mostly baryons ARGH headache
maybe if you built the remmler array, warpins would come in very slowly to it. because your sector has a remmler array to sweep their ship. they would spend a short while in the array, then transfer to your control. maybe for a fixed period.

Why not give it a tractor beam which pulls in enemy ships and kills the crew with its sweep.
Anyway, it's a maintenance dock and doesn't look as if it could perform any repairs.

Any more than a Newton Class with its 'Inta-Repair' beam can repair ships?
Much of the 'leg-work' for repairs would likely be handled by shuttles, worker-bees and people in spacesuits, so the station would only need to be a hollow shell to contain the resources. Canon has it remote controlled, so a habitable area isn't needed. Without that habitable area, the regular yards would look little different to the Array.

thats more of a limitation of the realism you can find in an RTS than lack of ideas for the newton.
also i believe that the newton repairs slower than a yard. i personally think the newton should only be able to repair a ship up to a limit, and not any more.

i disagree, i think that a lot of the serious repair is done by similar systems to building. the ent e went to what looked like a yard in nemesis.
either way, repair yards are plentiful. why build a facility that only repairs and doesnt build? making it cheaper than an antares yard wouldnt be great either,
i would like to see the remmler array, just it needs to do more than repair.

I suggested it as a map unit, there's not many things it could do. Enterprise went to a Yard to repair, but we don't know if it used the same systems as construction.
It shouldn't if it's only designed for minor damage like the hull, since no systems would need replicating. Though a refit yard wouldn't hurt, anything to be replaced could be held in the seperate command section instead of the shell holding the ship.

I like Andre's idea. Have it kill off the crew slowly with a pretty blue beam.
And you can play a mini game where you have to stay one step ahead of the sweep.
