LOL, more shield emitters? More weapons? If I remember the schimitar correctly, it had several layers of shields, and WAY out-weaponized the sovie. Not saying it shouldn't be done, tho...if you were to stick a few more weapons on there, you could take on your own fleet....

Wasn't the fight in "Nemesis" two Tavaras & one Sovereign vs. the Scimitar which could fire all weapons while cloaked? Such a godlike ship would really mess up any balancing, since many people are already complaining even Tavaras are too powerful.

Two Norexans (
); Tavaras are strictly Fleet Ops design. But yes, the Scimitar has already been discussed to death via its godlike status.
So far we've had godlike ship debates for....
1. Prometheus
2. Scimitar
3. Galaxy Class
4. Akira
5. am I missing any?... I'm positive I am.

So, basicaly, what we're saying, is that if we were to make all of the ships like we see them....we'd have fleets of ships that would never die? Hmm...sounds like a fun mod.

Sounds lame. And yeah the Scimitar was a prototype the plans were probably destroyed ect ect.

If you want to validate a no Scimitar universe further you could just say the Remans probably got crushed after there *one* ship was destroyed... including the loss of their entire command structure... so now they are back to mining dilithium.

I agree that Prometheus and Scimitar are hyped faaaar too much.
Just because some ships seems very strong in a single episode or movie, people think those ships are invincible super ships.
I mean in theory, if a nebula with data on it had been there it could have decloaked the scimitar (yes I know its cloak was described as being perfect) and the enterprise could have actually used its torpedos in an effective way, which probably would have made the scimitar seem far less invincible.
Or if the enterprise had reached the fleet in time...
I'm not at all doubting that its a very powerful ship, but its still just a ship...
Same with the prometheus. People love it because it looks cool, has a new ability and seems to have done a lot of damage with few shots, but, as I pointed out before, they happily ignore that its shields went down to 20% after a single hit from a dderidex...

But it DOES seem to have magic phasers that are offline one minute, then working perfectly in MVAM

Actually, neither the Prometheus nor the Scimitar are to be "god-like".
The prometheus should really be no stronger offensively than an assimilator (with 50-55 as offensive), and about 45-50 defensive.. this compared to a sov with 42 offensive and about 38 defensive.
MVAM would be it's speciality, with coordinated attacks on the same target from the flanks and front or rear simultaneously...
The scimitar - in my mind at least - is the archetype for the Tavara. so if it were to be in game - it would need to be weaker than the Tavara (basic design w/o upgrades) or at least at par with it.
it's special weapon - Biogenic Radiation - would be it's tour de force.
Given that they were prototypes and not mainstay ships of any fleet, they were proposed as being one offs or one-at-any-given-time builds.
Other than that I do not recall seeing any special Godhood or hype assigned to those 2.

The Scimitar is to mighty... one shot and the warpreactor of the enterprise was offline....

Agreed, as I said I'm in no way doubting that its a very mighty ship

The stats you mention for the prometheus are still a bit overpowered in my view, but I guess its true that I saw more assigning of godhood than there actually is, sorry for that.

Scimitar probably had as many weapons as a Borg Cube, Enterprise only survived because Shinzon wanted Picard alive.
It could never be in, it would have to be 'balanced' due to it's cloak and therefore wouldn't be the Scimitar.
