Refitting

I know I have to much spare time at my work

but, i think that refitting should be more explored,

because I play feds alot I will give a fed example;

you research critical shot for the defiant, when the research is done every NEW vessel of that class has critical shot however the allready existing vessels should have a refit button that would make them fly back to a staryard and starts refitting the ship for a certain price

this would also be necisary for the weapons and shields and impuls upgrades, i think this sounds pretty fun as your ships dont imidiatly have the advantage when in battle and should return first

i guess because you cant link it with the staryard?

if so, how about making a refitting bay?

such complicated scripting is completely impossible with armada2, at least without the sourcecode

there is a way...say you built a defiant class ship...that didn't have the critical shot...now....once you research critical shot...a refit on the defiants becomes available...so now you research the refit defiant that has critcal shot...similar to the way the rhienns can refit to phaser or torp variants...make the federation_defiant_refit.odf be linked to researching critical shot in the tech files...might be a little complicated..but possible..

I created a way to refit the sovereign and give it more weapons...i just looked at how the rhienns were modified using the evolve command..or you could just use the technique thats used in the A2 Hero's mod that transforms the Enterprises into each variant...nx-01 to the TOS then to TMP then to Ent-B then, C and so forth.. just a few ideas..lol

yep, that would be possible, but that won't be included. refitting is a special stuff for the romulans as every race has it's special uniques parts
i thought you ment a starship has to return to a yard to be refitted. that is not possible (as far as i know)

yes that is what I ment,

to bad it can't be done

oh well, we'll just have to do it the old fashioned way then
