I hope in newer versions that you will add disruptors to dderix, griffen and neg var on the wings. Also add torpedo to breen instead of pulse. I alwase thought the griffen was under powerd and i never like they way the War bird was armed.

well dontai, that's really for everyone to decide for themselves, i think the weapons are sufficient, but than again i don't really play much as romulan.

Well its true the D'Deridex Warbird has got a sh*tload of disruptor cannons (and not only beams) by star trek role, but fitting so much weapons to a single ship could be pretty complicated, as if every weapon deals its normal damage the ship will have too high firepower compared to other vessels.
I've found 3 ways to solve this problem:
First wich i like the most: Make the disruptor cannons short range and the beam and torpedo medium or long range. Just like at another vessel, maybe at the Dominion, im not sure... Wich has got a long range beam and a short range torpedo, so in close combat it deals much better damage. Maybe the D'Deridex should use something like that too, to compensate its weapons arsenal with the game balance.
The second idea is to let it have all the weapons it has by the role, just make every weapon weak. So it shoots many things at the hostile ship but each piece of shot does low damage, so it wont get overpowered.
The third idea is to let it have all the weapons as powerful as they are, but make them pretty inaccurate. (tho that will cause players to think that Romulans Front Line Battleship is actually crewed with a bunch of monkeydonkeys)

Hi,I'm new to the forum and I LOVE Fleet Ops!I'm one of these people who wants a ST game to be Cannon,I know that Fleet Ops couldn't be highly cannon but it's much better than the Stock A2 and all the other mods out there!
About the D'deridex, she only has ONE array. However, that single array is capable of firing either Torpedos,Distruptor beams or pulses. Not at the same time though. It has been thought that the D'deridex has many more weapons emitters but the only one seen on screan(to the best of my knowledge) is the forward emitter in the "head".Romulan ships on screan tend to be armed with very fiew weapons emitters but those fiew have a massive amount of power.Just look at the Valdore or the D'deridex as examples.

Actually |PX|Kern, you are incorrect but not by much...there is another weapon location on the underneath of the dorsal hull....in the TNG episode "Contagion", when the Iconian probe approaches the disabled Romulan Warbird, Riker tells them to destroy the probe and they fire a disruptor beam from this location..not from the "head" of the ship. I'm sure the Romulan D'Deridex class Warbirds have more weapons, as they were featured heavily throughout the last 3-4 seasons of DS9..maybe the original D'Deridex we saw in TNG was the first model with limited weaponry and the version we saw in DS9 was an uprated version due to the threat of the Dominion. The Romulans must have seen how easily the Jem'Hadar handled a Galaxy class starship and decided to begin refitting their entire fleet.

Sounds much more likely than the "1 weapon" theory. I just dont see how they would be stupid enough to give their ships such a limited firing arc.

hey,the Klingons have on average 95% of their weapons mounted on the front of their ships. The Romulans must've wanted to match that,if not better it
.
And Worf, what do you mean by "handled a Galaxy class starship"?The Jem'Hadar had 3 or 4 Bugships attacking that one Galaxy and they had to ram the Odyssey to take it down.In the Dominion War,not a single Galaxy was lost on-screan which really says a lot for the D'deridex.

Well, the aforementioned Odyssey was destroed onscreen, and the USS Galaxy and a few others were seen spiraling out of control with massive damage. It is extremely likely that at least one of them was destroyed.
