As far as I know the Prometheus won't be in. (The FO-team doesn't like it that much.)
I don't know if there are plans to make it a map object.

awww :(, i thought that this class of ship was pretty bad ass, if the FO teams does decide to put it in they will be my new best friends :D

In the first instance they only want to make it cannon if it's in the game.
One of the main issues is the MVAM. Until they don't find a way to make this ability available, the Prometheus won't appear.

But there's already a bunch of threads about the Prometheus in feature request and other topics. If you check them, you will find all the information about the Prometheus and FO you can imagine ;)

lol if only there was a way to dig into the source code and reset that value for the number of pieces that can be created by separation from 2 to i++ or the likes >_<

This might be off-topic but when I read this a borg-vessel appeared before my inner eye and split into hundreds of smaller vessels surrounding another ship and assimilating it without resistance. Something like a Borg-swarm... :borg:
Well, if not for the Borg, this would be interesting for the Noxter for example.

There is also resetting the pieces that are created (as last I checked the source code is the one the decides what is created etc.) anyway tis a shame, but almost everyone in the a2 modding community has tried to take a shot at this.

Separation-abilities don't work in FO, that's at least the reason why the Galaxy's saucer-separation isn't available as far as I know and why MVAM won't be available either.
I'd like to know why, as it works in stock A2. Could anyone please explain? Thanks! :-)

It worked pre beta3 (or at least I thought I remembered it working), it may have something to do with a rename of a sod, or the likes. Not sure on that one. They may have been testing moving over the separation sequence to the Prometheus and just didn't put the galaxy back.

The Prometheus Class, whilst powerful, is encased in a Temporal tidal system, so that it cannot enter warp without initiating a matrix whose elements point to a hilbert space of a quantum field.  :'(The main consequence of this is that Starfleet has been unable to prevent microsingularities arising in the warp core, causing warp field fluctuations that are difficult to compensate for. Moreover, the multi-vector assault mode separation system is intitated by a string/brane chain reaction, which means it is difficult to account for in only three dimensions, which ultimately means that there is a risk of the modules colliding during the separation sequence.  :xI would submit that the FleetOps team reconsider programming for such a possibility; these effect cannot be effectively designed without a quantum-bit based or highly parallel system. What is more, quasiparticle interactions which were previously unsuspected result in phonon-excition cooper pairs with a varacious appetite for disrupting the graviton field during spaceflight. ??? Unless this issue is addressed, the Prometheus' flight profile is likely to be inadequate during gameplay. I submit this proposal to the house.

Kind Regards,

The only time I foudn it of any use was when I was hunting down the remaining enemy ships, I'd seperate my galaxys before setting them on search and destroy.

I used it all the time, i would go into a base and separate there, more targets for them to hit gave me more time to hit my target.
