There should be an application similar to map editor for creating avatars :D The mods could make several more unused bonuses stations and ships for each race, and asign each a set of points, like credits. Then one goes in, names the new avatar, imports a pic, and has a set amount of points say for example 10. Then they choose what bonuses and extra ships and stations this avatar gets by spending those points. ;) :D Just another way to make the startegy more customizeable. Since all of it is preset, you could play with a custom avvy againts another person without that avvy online. :D

not a bad idea. not a clue how, or even if it can be done though.

the game wouldn't be comaptable on-line... Althogh excellent idea for home play, but i really don't think it's possible

Actually it WOULD be possible for net play because you can only make different cominations of prexisting ships and bonuses, ships and bonuses that every V3 player would have. ;) Its just you choice of combination. :D Its very possible, all you need is a program that knows what the names and files for ships and bonuses are, then creates an avatar file, adds it to FO and appends ma pic to it. ;)

Similar to the way some of those online-poker websites do it. Now... who wants to pony up the code?

yep as stated above it would make your FO installation unique so you would no longer be possible to play online. we hove no plans for custom avatars at the moment ^_^

There is a way t do it. For example, a saved game is made from standard elements in A2, so it doesnt make your install unique. Likewise these avatars would be made of premade elements, so all that's unique is the file that stores the combination you've come up with, which the other computer can interprate and replicate when connecting.
