Powerless turrets

Could a Romulan defence turret that has run out of power decloak? They're not supposed to have power left...

Maybe also lose any lights on the outside (like the Singularity generator) or move to a dormant pose (like the canon Cardassian turret)?

Romulan turrets don't use special energy to cloak.  As long as the cloaking generator is in tact, the turret will remain cloaked.

I don't remember the Cardassian turrets moving to a "dormant" pose except for in the missions, in which C++ scripting was used.  Fleet Ops would use a replace weapon.

I know it doesn't use energy, but cloaks are supposed to be very power draining. They should still turn off when it's dead in the water.

When did DS9 use C++ script?

The cloaking generator is sending power to them from across the sector like the cardassian turrets had from that one episode.  It just can't send enough power for the weapons, so that's what the closer transmitter is for.  I dunno, blame game mechanics or something.

I was talking about an Armada 2 mission, not DS9.

Well, to expand on what people have said, the cloaking generator sends cloaking energy to the turret through the quantum technobabble, in which there it reverses the polarity of the neutron flow into the thingamabob flux capacitor where then it converts it into singularity energies, but only enough to power the cloaking device, and not the weapon systems.
