I was thinking how awesome polaron field is when i though of a nebula with similar (ie not as strong) effects.

it disables random subsystems for any ship within it.

maybe a every 5 seconds a subsystem is disabled for 2 seconds. so you have 2 seconds of a subsystem being gone, then 3 of normal. then repeat. the numbers could be changed to make it more or less annoying.

would be interesting to see a nebula that punishes borg more, as their entire fleet is one ship, and if that loses engines then the chase is finished. while if only 1 or 2 non borg ships lose engines, some lose weapons, some lose sensors etc, it affects borg more than other races.

where to put these would be an interesting question for map makers. would make for interesting raiding of borg exps. running trough them would be possible, although cause problems, so a shortcut could be through one.

Not to rain on anybodys parade since I like the idea. But I pretty much already suggested this exact nebula with a different name in another thread about nebula types. Kudos to you Myles for getting noticed.

no need to be bitter, plenty of ideas get repeated as plenty of people have ideas. neither of us get paid to give ideas :P

The environment redo will feature many new items of which many ideas are inspired from the forum - not all are responded to, but that doesn't mean they aren't taken note of :)

I only see one problem with this idea.  The "nebula_obj" classLabel doesn't support such functionality.  But I love the idea.
