Play Now button

SCII pulled off a good "Play Now" button.

Politely requesting the same for FO.

Autojoin an open lobby? Otherwise I'm not sure what a play now button would be for...

I wouldn't mind a more instant, instant-action button.   Set up settings in a instant-action settings menu, and just a start instant-action button, on the main menu.

Clarifying: This is for multiplayer

Select your race, select the game type you would like (1v1, 2v2, ect), and hit "Find Game" (or "Play Now"). It automatically finds an opponent interested in playing that game type and away you go.

I do have to agree it can be very annoying to wait 45 min for someone to decide that there is the right number of players

Not so sure about this idea, most people you'll likely meet are ones not part of the community. If Left 4 Dead has taught me anything, then it's that 90% of the games found this way will be full of assholes.

...I haven't had much luck with this option in the past.

Problem is, there aren't necessarily enough people online at once.

Putting that aside though, it would be really cool if someone could write a program to go alongside tunngle and flops that asks you what type of game you are looking for, 1v1,2v2, any etc. and then puts like people together in a lobby of sorts where they can sort out the game.
