Planets

not sure how usefull planets would be in fo, but could they be put in

one use i can think of is to use them to hide a fleet of ships without disabling any systems (like nebulaes do)

what i mean by this is can they be made to give off interference, like purple nebulae, instaed of or as well as the gravity field (stopping warp) :alien:

would make good addition i think :tank:

Well we already have planets, and you can't hide ships on a planet seeing as how so few ships in ST have planetary landing capabilities. Then few planets give off sensor and communications interferance as well.

but then again they did do it on bridge commander, you hide behind on and listen to the frengi, also we do have planets as pd said, youi can get them in the map editor, they don't serve any purpose atm, although they will have the same affect as planets in a1

Well now planets are there only for looks And I think it is better like this than the way it was in A2 :S

hmm i liked it wit the planets in it... just the shipdesigns and the balancin and the textures were totally f***edup

well i would like to see planets back, if nothing else, they could be populated, and if they are, they give as much crew as 2 starbases

That is nice of course, but I still dont like how they were, as planets if they do, should have a larger role on the gameplay, not only a minor one. So either bring them back properly or dont bring them back at all

with till now i ment in version 3.0 (there is no beta3). maybe they will change their role in a future release
