Pirate/mercenary Distress Call

I have another idea out of star trek online. Pirate distress call. For the times where your ships are too far away to help a mining station. The mining station itself can call in mercenaries or pirates to assist for 30 seconds. The distress call would call in random ships usually random freighters with weapons, some would be old surplus warships. Maybe give it a three minute cool down or something.

What do you think?

So basically a warpin with a timelimit? :lol:

The idea is okay'ish, depends more on which factions should get it, where it's in the tech, how pricy the feature is, and so on - also needs to have a good balancing attempt, cause i kinda doubt the Feds, or especially the Borg, would call in pirates.

It would be perfect if they implemented the Ferengi as a faction instead of the Iconians or that Noxus species.

If a pirate appeared at my resource station I wouldn't call that a good thing (even if I asked him to come there with a distress signal.)

If this ability was useable in the FleetOps universe, it would be as a measure of last resort. Gameplaywise, it would make sense that the pirates/mercenaries would want a large fee of supplies and possibly some di/tri. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the pirates tried to board the resource station if they defeated the other team...
