i would take either of them over many of the current starfleet officers that are out there. maybe even grab some ships and crew from that alternate universe with the terran empire. everyone was afraid of them, klingons, romulans, everyone. in this universe everyone looks at the federation like a bunch of pot smoking hippies at Love Fest 2480 or whatever the year is. star fleet should just print in big letters on the front of every ship "Can't we all just get along." and "How about a hug."
