Is there a way to edit the server settings for STA2:FO that way only people with FO can join it? If so would you be able to do this for new vers of FO. Thx

Is it really needed? You can just kick the people or get a password.

as far as i know only people with the exact same version of the game can join - therefore only people which use the same Fleet Ops version. otherwise you would get "your files diver from the servers"

Well thats not true, and I know that for a fact. Again with the misdirection Optec AKA supercomputer 56901. People with wrong version join my games all the time.

Well via however you connect when you go into FO and hit multiplayer.

What I am saying is that the multiplayer mode would only show games of people with FO and ond only people with FO would see my game and join.

I still don't see a problem because all the reg games are yellow anyway. Just join the games in white.

yep, that would be my solution, too reprogramming or changing such basic things should be impossible without the sourcecode

i already talked to the gamespy guys about having an extra channel just for fleet operations but it doesn't seem they are interested in helping out...

like maby haveing thare logo at the start up of V3 or V4?
or and a small banner on fleetops site.

Thats not a bad idea. They might listen if we advertise Gamespy. I also beleieve that an extra channel woudn't cause too much sever load for game spy concidering that FleetOps isn't an officialy made game so there woudn't be as much traffic in the channel as say, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds or the plain version of Armada 2.

the gamespy.cfg file Is that the file that tells the game where to connect to? If so could you not find someone else to host an online multplayer game server for fleet ops?
