Old color differences?

I can't remember if this was in the base Armada 2, but I definitely remember it in Armada 1.  When you pick a color in multiplayer or instant action for your team, when you got in the game your buildings and ships had some undertones of the color you picked.

The reason I bring this up is playing the same race/class as someone else, particularly with borg (black on already dark space maps) it gets easy to target the wrong ship....and sometimes your own.  Call me a noob but I have shot down a borg cube w/ my own fleet while trying to blow away someone else's in the heat of a fight.

Let me know what you guys think.

hmmm, there probably should be some sort of toggle system (flagging)... personally I toggle the shield "health" display so that all my own are highlighted... so that I know which ships are mine

It was team colours.

they removed it, in v2 and v3pr you had the choice via the loader but it's gone now.

It is gone for now, but as they said in a post i made some time ago team colors will return. I dunno if it's gonna be via a patch or the next version but they said team colors will return. For now all we have are those tiny specie simbols that appear next to a selected ship that have team color - it's not much, it's total chaos in a large battle ... but it's the only thing for now.

team colors on vessels are currently technologically impossible with fleet operations.
a toggle option for the little colored icons is on todo

It is easy, use numbered fleets (Fleet 1, Fleet 2, etc).
