I would like to see a "Kills" (number of kills) stat on each ship/station. (Just a superficial piece of eye candy)

hehe, sure, thought of that too. actually it is on our internals idea list ;)

I think its a great idea, kinda like Supreme Commander, cause then people can see how much combat that ship has seen.

Because there's definitely no other way to measure combat experience or get a rough idea of ship survivability...  :whistling:

:P

Nevertheless, the idea is a good one :)

such a display is nothing that is any useful or even meaningful about how good a vessel really is as a borg cube and a scout both increment that number only by one :) still i somehow liked that too
instead we could show the vessels gained experience points which would be a better representation to some extent, but fleet operations is not meant to be an rpg :P

Yeah, I fail to see the value of a "frag count" in this game. This is not a FPS. :)

M.. M.. M.. M.. Monsterkill!  >:D

yep i think if something should be implemented, then it should be an experience display. But on the other hand we redid the interface to get a light and easy to view representation, without giant fullscreen tooltips and unecessary information. I don't think a frag or experience counter would yield us many benefits.
Perhaps for a singleplayer campaign someday to do hero ships that gain experience through the missions.. but thats only an idea, not even something on the todo list ^-^

I get the feeling now that it's already there...

But a teeny-tiny progress bar showing how much more experience is needed to level up couldn't hurt, could it? :ermm:

noo :P that's just what i wanted to avoid.

yea, maybe that counter could be hidden (hover tooltip etc). still, now i am not sure if it is really a that good idea, i liked in the past but that was a time where we didn't had that ship ranking. i thought about that experience bar or display right on when ship ranking came into play, but fleet operations is just not world of warcraft. the focus in the ranking system is obviously the ranking itself than the exact number you still require for a vessel to gain the next rank. for that to be actually relevant our system is too simple.
the 'kill counter' in fleet operations would in fact be absolutely useless. in supreme commander the units are leveling up by number of kills, not the value they have killed, so a t4 bot counts the same as when you destroy a t1 scout. the equal representation for that value in fleet operations for that is the experience display - which i am not really sure if i like to have that.. still, it may be ok to just show the actual xp gained, but not how much is required to the next level etc..i am really not sure

Hmmm....... I wish in the patch proj ranking was made available...

I would have had a 8 rank system. But a progress bar like the shield/health bar would be chaos wouldn't it? I mean, that could pose new problems like an over filling bar, or stuff like that.

a bar could also been shown in the shipbar when a single vessel is selected, don't like that though, should be more hidden if at all.

isn't there already a screen at the end of the game,  lists the ships, who they killed, who killed them.

your most effective combat ship, least effective?

i know those screens are there.  it is around the timeline screen.

am i the only one who checks those out after games?

I think they mean a counter in the Ship Display Panel, the Admirals Log has bugs...

Could we make the Adm log look like an LCARS computer entry? :woot: It'd look much better.

Copy the files from 'Tactical Assault', though if you strech you imagination, the FO one almost resembles a psuedo-LCARS.
