Npc Alliances

What do you think of NPC alliances during game. Means over comm menu I can pay some resources or ships as sign of confidence. For that NPC's won't attack me anymore or start fighting against my opponent.

Yeah that could be fun, but it shouldn't be like age of empires 2.
always 1 allied with you and on harder levels they always deserted you.
It should be completley random and with some modifications.

i'm not sure if that is possible but i will check that for a later version :)

you will be able to hire NP mercenaries in v4, but they will be under your command just like a constructed ship

Chess announced that he will release some files so that modders are able to creat singleplayer missions in A2. Will it also be possible to creat a one map mission?
Example: 2 ppl are playing such a multiplayer map. The difference to ordinary maps is that if a special point in development is reached NPC's come from outside the map and influence the fight between both humans.
Another example is a fleet or a single ship flies into an area and then something unforseen happens. There are so many ideas I'd like to transfer into such a map.
Imagine the point when you have just built your science station a huge fleet of 8472 bio ships passes the map and try to eliminate all hostile races on their way through.

Can the files be used for that Chess? Or just for plain single player?
