Hello, guys! What do you think of a Nova Class in Fleet Operations? I think it's a very beautiful ship though it's not very powertful.

yes, the nova class is on todo and planned for one avatar to get. it's not sure yet if she will make it in v3.

Hey Slipstream, great to meet you!

I think the Nova inclusion is a charming idea, I'm glad it'll be in a later version. It looks great, and perhaps it'a a bit more powerful than we all think, being from the late 24th century. At least we know from Voyager: Endgame that it can last a few minutes in a firefight with two Negh'var battleships without being squashed. Although I agree that sometimes it's just theatrics. Whichever way, it's certainly deserves a place in this mod.

Nice Idea. Nova Class would be good for Long-Range Scouts or Light Destroyers (weak Weapons but strong Shields).

Great to meet you all, guys! Thank you very much!

Yes, there is a Rhode Island refit of the Nova Class, which can be seen in the final Voyager episode - Endgame. It's really much more powerful than the original and appears to be canon.

Here's a picture of it:

I have heard they are considering it as an avatar ship. It will likely not be as strong as the Rhode Island we saw in Endgame (that was in the 25th century). My guess would be support cruiser (since its a science ship in canon).

It's nothing more than a replacement for the Oberth to be honest.

It's a relatively weak ship, not much more (if more) powerful than the Sabre.

Chances are it will fill a similar role to the dominion C-11 Interception Frigate (Haven't played in a while, might be a typo in the name) and will be on par with a standard destroyer/frigate and have some sweet abilities.

Sorry for bumping an old topic, I figured this would be best, then starting a new topic, and rehashing the entire conversation.  I think this would be a cool addition to the game.  One idea, as we saw to variants is to make the ship upgradeable or something from the Equinox version, to the Road Island version (the latter seemed to fight well, the former got its ass kicked).

Well, ot be fair, the Rhode Island was from the 25th century and the Equinox had withstood weeks of being pounded by angry extra-dimensional aliens...

I still think the Nova should replace the Canaveral, but that's just me...

As for the Rhode Island upgrade... it's a future ship, it would be a bit hard to explain in this timeframe.

...Unless of course it was a map object :D

Hehe, just say the Premonition brought it.  :shifty:

you all seem to forget that, that part of the episode was from an "alternate" future. Since janeway actually changed the way events panned out, the "Rhode Island" may not even come to be any more.

Not really, Fleetops is set after nemesis, the events seen in Endgame only occurred 17 years after Voyager got home.
