No set base

I don't know if this is already been mentioned before, but is it possible to have a mode where you start with just a Constructor instead of a Starbase and start your Outpost where you want? Preferably with an enforced, non-negotable cease-fire...

I like this part of C&C, but it seems to make me think of A1 for some reason...

i also would apreciate a "cease fire" option of some sort.. maybe a redo of diplomacy towards the A.I. is on todo?

Cease Fire is already possible :)

In regard to Tyler's post - would be a cool mode indeed  :thumbsup:. The only reason I don't like it as stock (but I wouldn't mind as an alternative mode as you suggested) is because it would allow you to setup camp near crucial chokepoints and other suck issues. Not such an issue with CnC because those bases weren't heavily defended  ^-^

Starting with just a constructor was an A1 option, which probably explains why it reminds you of it. I think this would be possible, but a new constructor with the avatar selection thing would be required. Of course, then we get to whether or not the AI can use it which is anybody's guess.

From what I understand, it disables weapons, which includes the replaceweapon command.  That gives it the unfortunate side affect of also disabling refits, warp-ins.  I could be wrong, though.

the cease fire when activated can be up to a maximum of 10 minutes i think, it might be lower. it stops you or the enemy firing anything that is a weapon, which includes cloak and the above mention of replaceweapons like refitting etc.

it means you can send your scout anywhere, even to your enemy's base and they cant shoot it, they will send their scout to your base also :P and you wont be able to shoot theirs. there will be a small warning shortly before the cease fire ends, and then the second it ends all weapons will be free and the game proceeds as normal.

i dont like the cease fire option at all, it can encourage turtling. it also allows skipping lower tech levels and just teching up in the first few minutes as you know the enemy cant rush you.

I stand corrected. does cloak still get stopped by cease fire though? i havent used the cease fire option since several patches ago  :pinch:
