New Weapon Class-Labels

This is mostly a modding feature, but I would like to see one new class label for weapons and another for ordinances. Specifically, upgraded Launcher and Pulse class labels, similar to CannonImp, UniBeam, and UniTorpedo. The proposed LauncherImp would have the special features of CannonImp, like shotDelayX, while preserving the Launcher's unique behavior and the proposed UniPulse would similarly include the features of the existing Uni_ ordinances and the UniTorpedo's shotGeometry line while behaving like a stock Pulse weapon, i.e. flying in a straight line by default and not being shot down by point defense lasers.

Yes, a nice idea - from your remarks on Launcher in another thread we have added a todo to add that hardpoint facing behavior to Cannonimp as a configurable flag in a future patch :thumbsup:

Regarding a proposed 'unipulse', I'm not aware of any plans, as I think the functionality of 'straight to target' behavior is trickier.

Incidentally, if you use an OrdnanceDefenseWeapon instead of a PointDefense weapon you can choose which Missile ordnance you choose to shoot down. :)

Does the OrdinanceDefenseWeapon work with pulses? i.e. can you use a pulse weapon to shoot at torpedos?

At the moment the OrdnanceDefenseWeapon is not configurable for its linked Ordnance I'm afraid

Yeah... Thats what I thought.... :( I guess I just gotta wait for machine gun defense weapons then.

I support this! It would be very nice to have shotdelayX for so called "LauncherImp"!
