I was just playing the Romulans and noticed that the D'deridex has a new female voice.
She even said different things depending on if the ship was in combat or not!
It's very well done (like everything else) and I would love to hear even more in the future.
More accents for the Federation would be awesome: Russian, Japanese, African, etc.
This was a really nice surprise.

"Patience! Their shields will fall!"

The Tavara does have a new voice.  But I liked the old one! :crybaby:  It was always nice having that cool, calm soprano command one of the most deadly ships in the game while saying "Warp drive engaged", or "They are unlikely to survive."  I miss her. :'(

yes, but the d'deridex sound-set is the only one that makes use of a set of new events. that's what xenovore was referring to

That is awesome idea! :D Id even consider playing feds just to hear the Jamaican captain of the Descent  :D
Or maybe a German captain yelling: "For ze Federation!" when you charge into enemy ships :D

I think most German users would get mad hearing "For ze Federation!" all the time... I think I could hardly bear it. :)

It's so embarassing hearing politicians speaking English without a proper th...
almost as if the people who get the most attention speak the worst English. It's a pity. :pinch:

What if there was an alternating sppech set, just one additional parameter per ship consisting of the speech-set's number. This could be chonsen randomly at the ships creation.

Alternativly we could have an option in the sound menu, which determines which speech set is used. You remember the differen speech sets of "Worms" ?

Hehe I know a lot of German people speak proper english, but I just think it would be funny hearing all different accents on different starships. And it was just an example :)

Though ST seems ok with using Russian accent lol, why not others as well though?

It would be cool if we have different speach sets for each ship. However i would settle for each ship having a different speach set. Also could we provide some for the Devopers with either ideas for new sayings or the actual voices that would be cool. Personally i want to hear a captain of a saber say {start sothern draw} "yall come on back now, if ya ever want another fight" {end draw} or a ausie accent or a bostan accent.
