that bottom bit is lowering to create/ generate something

i agree, that could be a construction platform that lowers and starts to build.

I think it look's quite good. Might even work as a small ship for a race. Still, if you were going to use it, I'd have a look at the cone in the bottom section, the colour could be changed a lil bit but apart from that...

I don't think the design ist restricted in any means, so feel free to use it. You might still want to figure out who originally made it.

I think it could be a Ciaden station.. they are a pretty advanced race right? and the station looks very futuristic.

The Ciadan have their own unique designs, but yep it looks a bit Ciadan a bit

What about those two old / new races Iconian and Ciadian or something... (can't remember which, but one of them is ancient, and would have decent looking structures) - such as this!

I don't think it would work for any other race!

It ~would~ work, but I can see it as a homeworld and/or colonial defence station, a Ferengii or Bajoran command-&-control "sentinel", which launches, repairs & remote-controls smaller orbital weapons satellites for it's specific sector of the planet, & co-ordinates the planet's warp-traffic. Think DS9 meets the Utopia Planetia "parking station" 's.
