This is for people who like intense game play. But I am not fooling when I say... INTENSE! Now, I am uncertain how them devs will whip up this game play mode. Yet I am certain this gameplay mode will make gameplay much more interesting.
"Why is it called 'Burning Revenge'?" some may ask. The truth is, if you play this, it is like a group of Klingons trying to avenge their fallen through blazing rage. Or like Khan trying to destroy you with some Jem'Hadar destroyers in his fleet. What am I talking about?
Objective: Destroy all your enemies
Comparing to standard gameplay:
- Weapon strength is doubled
- Ship speed doubled
- construction speed tripled
- mining speed doubled
- instead of buying supplies you get a constant income (about 5 supply per second)
- All upgrades are 3x as effective
- Special energy recharge rate is increased by 50%
So, what is the reason for having this type of gameplay? Well... #1 Action, #2 this brings a whole new meaning of combat experience, #3 you get much more fun out of the game, #4 it also can sometimes help you test things that may be further in the techtree more quickly (if you were to ever mod it).
Just an idea...

Most of those things can be set in the 'Advanced' options in the game set-up screen.

doubling the gamespeed will do most of that, so yeah, I agree with Tyler.
