I don't know if anyone's started posting ideas for the "new gameplay features" which come later but I wanted to put forward the proposal of implementing something like the CNC Zero Hour generals powers and ring powers from Lord of the Rings BFME. Basically in the other games, the more ships/buildings you destroy you get some kind of momentum gauge which fills, gives you points to spend on general powers which range from surveillance to economy boosters and buffs/debuffs for combat.

Personally I love the new RTS's with these systems in, more and more RPG elements never hurt a games customization. Just I wouldn't recommend the late game powers be anything like the Balrog and stuff, that was going a bit too far imo :P

And what would the Borg get?  It'd almost certainly be worse than the Balrog.  More like deploying Sauron/Galadriel.

Honestly I thought the Borg would get placable temporary transwarp conduits :) Federation, a time ship with a CNC Red Alert 3 chorono-watch which Tanya has it takes her back 10 seconds to where she was before. Stuff like that that is all possible, :)

 Cool!

I'd like to see that some day in FO! I have to ask why not the Balrog though

Additional to the existing exp-system it would be quite interesting to be allowed to further customize your avatar's skills / abilities. Maybe there could be some intel stuff for Helev like a phase-cloaked sensor drone you could send into your opponent's base (for a limited time) or a nasty hit and run strike force for Mijural as top-rank special ability.
Maybe we could get some transwarp stuff for the Borg that way too.  :borg:

I'm pretty sure one of the first RTS's to implement the "God Feature" was Populous.

TOTALLY awesome oldschool game where you don't actually control any of the units.  Instead you just raise and lower the landscape to let the little automated cavemen build bigger structures.  They worship you and give you "god-energy" to unleash volcanoes, swamps, earthquakes, or even turn one of your followers into a battle-hungry knight :woot:!

These are the evolution of that lineage !  I don't know how much I like the idea being in FleetOps though ...

we try do bring a different dimension of customization in Fleet Operations through avatars, ranking vessels and the like. You will probably see more customization there, but we don't have precise plans for a "god like" skilltree. Yet, i could imagine something similar. Let's wait and see what the future might hold
