I too would like to see this as some sort of small ship - attack oriented.  I do not think that it would work as anything bigger than the size of a S-2. Looks nice by the way.

Funnel shapes?  Isn't the left side the front of the craft?

No, it's definately the right side.

I'm sure I'm correct.
The ship is a fighter - basic design similar to the destroyer - so the bug-body-like thing is the back. So looking on the pic, the right side is the front.

Judging by the way the nacelles are placed, I'd go with the left side being the front on this one. But I do understand what you mean about the body shape indicating otherwise.
