Nebula Idea Compilation

Many of these ideas are inspired from the high ground terrain in Starcraft (and many other RTSs).

Impenetrable
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Impenetrable Nebula / Shield upgrades

It would be "interesting" if some nebula were initially impenetrable (i.e. can't move into them) until an upgrade (i.e. shield upgrade #1).

and/or

Allow the shield upgrades to negate one negative effect of a nebula per shield level. I.e. Shield level one prevents shields from being disabled in a nebula. Shield level two prevents damage or sensor failure.

Doesn't disable shields
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Nebula that doesn't disable shields

It would be nice if there were nebula that didn't disable shields (as it seems Borg get such a distinct advantage on shield downing nebula). (don't have to remove the existing ones...)

Edit: It would be nice to be able to build in the non-shield disabling nebulae

Weapon miss chance
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Miss chance nebulas...

Have a nebula (or nebula property) that affects the miss chance for beams, pulse, and/or torpedoes (aka 3 different properties).

(and... and... have a nebula with random changing effects!)

Invisible
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Invisible nebulas

It would be "interesting" if each nebula had an option to be made invisible (in the map editor). (there were plenty of times in ST were something happened and no one knew what was going on for a while) A mid or late game sensor upgrade would/could counter the invisible aspect of the nebula.

See into nebula upgrade
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Upgrade: See into nebula

I would like an upgrade that allows (some?) ships to see into nebulas. (possibly add this to the 2nd tacheyon scan upgrade?)

High/low ground / Line of sight
//www.fleetops.net/component/optio ... ic,6649.0/

I wish there was a "low ground" (can't see out but can see in) nebula.

The blue/Fluid nebula is a 'high ground (can see out, but can't see in) nebula.

Other ideas:

Give the Borta's Ion Storm ability the added feature of, if set off in a nebula, turning said nebula into a Nucleon (Red) nebula.
