I was wondering if on the little window that comes up when you hover over a ship, i know theres another name for it probably....
if you could put some more info on it, like its speed, and what its good against, that way we dont have to comb through doms guide for all the details about a bunch of ships, just idk about you guys, but when im learnign a race, i cant remeber all the details of a ship from doms guide, and itd be helpfull to build a brel that will work better against and excelsior two then say a kvort,
the speed thing would also help with grouping ships

Size and type (battleship, cruiser, destroyer) should be enough, and I think that's been said to be going in at some point.

klingons have cheap ships that are designed for war, the borg are expensive but powerful, the federation are not warmongers but have average ships, romulans are not designed for fighting but can still carry damage, dominion have respectable ships designed for war.
you just need to know how to use each race for their best uses.

I agree with Unleash that size and type are the most crucial aspects - the more numbers and descriptions, actually the harder it becomes to understand that information and I don't think that having a speed on there would help. Most people don't even pay attention to what weapons or passives a ship has, and that's FAR more crucial for engagements than speed now (remember yesterday when you weren't aware what Autonomous Defense AI was Ray? ).

thats because ive never used that special, the main point is, a way to know what is effective against what instead of trying to guess

It's not a special weapon, it's a passive ability, and it's written on the ships that you were attacking - just like speed would be.

well sry okay, its not like theres a list of specials i comb through, all im saying is a little more info on the ships would be greatly appreciated
and if at all possible, a toggle switch to have more or less, or a range in the middle of info

Old toggle switch on A2 was great, I hope it will be back one day.
Having a minimal tootip, a medium and a detailed would be really cool, or even change the button between the infomation/combinations you want to see of ship values, ship siz, ship type, weapon range, maybe a list of passives, weapons and special weapons.

Is The Hitchhiker's guide really that hard to navigate? Cluttered Tooltips would be so annoying that you'd hammer your keyboard in anguish and have to buy a new one. Nice keyboards are too expensive.

that why it was suggested to have a toggle button

I actually agree with ray...Id like to see toggleble tootips that switched from minimal to detailed tooltips but that is a lot of extra work....
The guide is nice but it be nicer to have the info at hand durring battle...but then after a few battles you kinda figure out what ships work for what etc....so really the extra info is good for newbies and for the memory challenged. But still it would be a nice feature that would enhance the allready profesional level quality of the game even further.

Anyone who wanted to could always print out a list of special weapon effects... Are there printer-frendly hot sheets around?
EDIT: Little charts or something, I dunno. Lots of pictures would probably help too...
