Anyone remember Stock A2's romulan and species 8472 weapons that made whole fleets forget who was who and shoot everyone?  I personnaly thought they were cool little combat inhibitors, especially to spamming enemies.

Who thinks they should make a comeback?

Your right there voyager, but if someone kept spamming with them, the game would become slightly unbalanced don't you think? They were good weapons in Stock A2 but for FO, no. :sweatdrop:

i would have to say the same, the balancing with such weapons will get pretty difficult. imagine someone using this on a cube...

balacing not that hard just give it a limited build amount and a slow recharge (mayb cost resources)

Make the ship carrying it like a fightercarrier in build limit and Special Energy.

I could see this as a computer override for the Ciadan... or the Macro Virus for the Noxter quite honestly :)

hmm maybe for mixed tech this would be good and we could have a limit on how many you can build :D

The problem I had in stock with this was, when it was used on a tactical fusion cube!

[shadow=red,left][glow=red,2,300]EVERYTHING[/glow][/shadow], but the cube, was destroyed, including the stuped persion who used the weapon in the first place!

A nice canon excuse to make something like this would be in the dominion war when the cardassian orbital weapons platforms were fooled into targeting their own power source with false warp signatures. Maybe if it only worked on turrets and sometimes failed, it wouldn't be overpowered, and it would dissuade too much turtle tactics.

EDIT: i dont have anything against turtles by the way, turtling is a valid tactic, and sometimes fun if not overused.

Turtling is good, unfortunately the Ai isn't adaptive enough to counter it and will continue to throw hordes of ships in the same locations repeatedly:(

Not sure what this post has to do with turtling Proton.

On another note, there was a TNG episode with a weapon this was supposed to be based on.  The entire crew forgot who they were, but still had all their skills.  The computer was wiped clean of all biographical data, and the crew was almost fooled into destroying a starbase belonging to a neutral (to the federation) base.

Yeah, but in Star Trek reality, I bet it would be kinda hard to do, but not impossible.
