Not bad, not sure if this was in the show but I did see an episode of DS9 where they rerouted phaser energy to the deflector and did some damage to a buggership. I like it. *SEAL OF APPROVAL*

but would most likely have to disable the engines for a short while and drain most if not all the special energy.

No simply use special energy, like 50-75 per burst sounds reasonable.

Too much of a micro-management feature for my liking, as using this with special weapon autonomy would be pointless.

Huh? Are we talking about something different then a simple special weapon like PD Phasers or those Quantums on the Defiant?

The feds have too many ships anyway, Would thanging the galaxy clas make the game better? i don't see that anyone would like to build the galaxy as it isn't the trongest vessel youcan buy with those precious credits

The federation has alot of differant hull designs, just how it works in the star trek universe. I like to build at least one of every ship so I got pretty much every special weapon at hand.
