Larger wormholes

One of the issues with existing wormholes is that they are easy to turret, partially because of their size. One idea (just to have it), would be to make wormholes that are larger (potentially much larger). I'm not suggesting to take out the current ~1-ship width wormholes, but to add other multi-ship-width wormholes in addition.

The lore is there in the DS9 opening credits (that wormhole was huge).

Well wouldn't an option to help prevent turreting a wormhole be to increase its footprint so more turrets would be needed and at a further distance to help ships escape

doesnt a wormhole act like a station meaning ships collide with it?  just askin coz if the footprint is made larger can it affect pathing on ships just goin past it?

i think a larger footprint for a wormhole is a great idea.

lore: wormholes put out gravitonometricexpialidoshus particles which prevent buildings from being there.

ds9 was quite a distance from the wormhole really. it took the defiant several seconds to get from the wormhole to the station.

and there was enough space to put an entire field of mines between them

maybe if a wormhole also damaged buildings that you do put too close. courtest of those funny particles.

maybe a new wormhole could be one that damages ships that fly through it lol.
