Klingon Defense Turret
Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

The Klingon defense turret has ("Heavy Weapons" something) just been driving me crazy. It costs nearly as much as Fed torpedo station, has a very high offensive stat (~70), but can't seem to take out anything with regularity. Also, the Photon Rack weapon is kinda random - nothing else uses it and it looks weird.
Possible ideas:
Possible ideas:
- The Klingons love their weapons: keep the stats/cost the same, but switch the weapons to a Disruptor + 2x Photon Torpedo or Disruptor + Ion Torpedo.
- Make the station (weakly) upgradable - perhaps to be able to add the previously mentioned weapons.
- Give the station a Torpedo Drone ability (replaced with Heavy Disruptor for the female avatar).
- The Klingons really love their weapons: unlike every other race, their defensive stations are manned and so repair hull / shields / subsystems faster, but are of course vulnerable to anti-personnel weapons.
- If in the future mixed-tech changes I would love to see this station armed with micro ion torpedoes that fire in a stream (from Fed tech, like their Quantum Torpedos)

I like the Klingon Platform, especially the weird looking torps. It normally takes out most ships rather quickly when I use it.

I don't see a problem with the Heavy Weapons Platform either: I like the effects, and it is quite nice for driving off midgame ships.

I don't really see any problem with the current Klingon defense turret, it's pretty powerful already (2 can insta-gib the lighter ships). However I do like the idea of upping its power a little and making it manned, just because I can totally see the Klingons building a station with weapons on it and literally clammering to man it. The only problem I can see is that it would make the Klingons even more vulnerable to assimilators, and they're already probably the most vulnerable race thanks to low crew pop on their ships. If the station is not vulnerable to assimilators (tons of crew) then it's unbalanced due to having become more powerful at little to no cost. If it is vulnerable then Klingons lose more ground against the borg, which is bad because they're already pretty weak there (at least against assimilation).
Making it upgradeable kinda takes away some of the Dominion super-defense station's uniqueness, so I can't see that happening.
It already has torpedo drones normally (can't miss with its torpedoes)
If anything were to be done to the heavy weapon platform I would say that cutting its defense down (Klingons are not renowned for their building capabilities) and cutting the cost as well would be the only good change, making them more vulnerable but significantly cheaper. However that's not really necessary as it's already pretty balanced as is.

I wish the Klingon OWP wasn't so 'stiff'. Will there be an animated version?

That would be cool. I also think the Heavy weapons platformed is very well balanced as is....they do take a lil long to build but are way worth it in my opinion....Also I love the effect of the dif speed torps overtaking each other.....Like was said in another post above....2 of them easily handle lesser ships....build them in groups of 3s and ur opponent is gonna have major headaches.
