i think in first contact  the battle was going on for 2 hours? i'm not sure but i heared something about 2 hours and 40ish ? OH OH OH wait i think data said that "from our current position it would take 2 hours something to reach earth"  and then picard was like no we can't b/c of starfleet b.s.

anyways in first contact there was an steamrunner class starship that was caught in the cube destruction radius there for it was destroyed if you look closely to the top left when the cube explodes

omg I just NOTICEd the norway class starship O_O

It was several hours, Borg Cubes don't go down quickly.

That Steamrunner was the only one seen, a blast like that could easily have taken out several ships off-screen.

That movie has been out for years and you only just noticed the Norway?

i liked the norway in SoA with the more yellow phasers. i wonder why it was seen by the devs as a good candidate for support? i like it, i just wonder what their thinking was.

I don't think they were in SoA, only FC.

Maybe they needed a support ship and decided that since there is almost nothing (canon) about the Norway, it would work well?

im reasonably sure that one was briefly seen from port in SoA, firing a dorsal phaser array at an unseen foe. it looked good.

EDIT: i stand corrected, i looked again on youtube and now believe i confused it with a saber. according to memory alpha it appeared as a graphic in favor the bold, and in the flesh.

dumb question but does mass eve matter in space since there is no gravity or friction

Mass is a constant, not affected by gravity or friction. Mass is directly proportional to momentum, which is what really matters in space :)

Yes, as illustrated by the famous equations, P=MV and E=MC[sup]2[/sup] (you can forget about the other garbly gook at the end of the that equation... it's unimportant for this  :whistling:).

Since all spaceships have mass, the more mass an object has, the greater energy is required to accelerate that mass and bring it to an equal momentum as a less massive object. :)

Gravity is "just" acceleration towards an object, which is "caused" by the mass of the object. The reason you weigh 75kg on Earth and 1/6 of that on the Moon is because you are accelerating towards the point mass (the center of the planet/moon) based on your attraction towards that mass. The larger the mass, the larger the acceleration. Consequently, you weigh less as you go further in altitude. Likewise, even as you accelerate towards the Earth/Moon, the Earth/Moon is also accelerating towards you, albeit a very small amount. Consequently as momentum (P) is conserved, M[sub]1[/sub]V[sub]1[/sub]=M[sub]2[/sub]V[sub]2[/sub] and as the mass of one object increases, its acceleration decreases in relation to the ratio of the other mass/velocity of the other object :). If you wish, we can go into more detail, but for that I'd have to explain the gravitational constant (G) and introduce another equation too :)

Merry Christmas Sir Boggz :P

Now... STAND IN THE CORNER YOUNG MAN! Thaaaas right.  :whistling:

And a very Merry Happy Holiday to all and to all a good night :)

Incidentally, absolutely nobody is on Wippien - I guess that the holidays have claimed their own.

I'm with my family and "typing a screenplay".  Have no optical mouse and can't play games :)

Plus I'm totally ready to just wait it out until the patch comes out.  My Klingons yearn for the capability to take the fight to those nasty feds.

I as well (to the whole family and yearning for Klingon stuff... don't have a screenplay as far as I know  ^-^ ). I've gotten rather tired of team games devolving into who can spam the best kiter the fastest when sides are uneven. Think I might stick to 1v1's for awhile, or wait for the patch as well, and work on rewriting the guide instead :) .
