Just a quick warp in idea

Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

warp in is meant as a reenforcement, both lore wise and gameplay wise, so why not make it so the ability can only be casted on allied ships?
that way, you need at least some scout somewhere to warp in, which should be no big deal but you can't go like just roflpwn miners with these free ships.

usually I have 2-4 scouts all around the map. So this idea will not prevent warpins from being cast anywhere.

but it will add some value to having scouts yourself as you could spot or prevent potential warp ins

there already is a high value for using scouts...many ppl just forget to build and manage them

I don't see a problem with the idea.  Sure, it's easy to build scouts so it doesn't affect you too much, but it would limit its use a bit, especially on larger maps if the enemy is hunting down your scouts.:)

Despite Drrr's objection I think this is a fine idea :).

Fed Scouts can be forgotten at times and I think this might be a nice concept for restricting the almighty warpin.

i like this idea, maybe adjust it so that it only works on combat ships and not scouts, maybe freighters too.

it wont fix the problem of people attacking your mining completely, but at least they will then have to spend time and money on a sabre or something.

the main point of this is, warpin strikes on mining would need planning. you coudn't just go like "heh, he attacks me, wooh, I just warp in on that expansion there to make a joke of him! ha ha ha!"

Yep, I wouldn't mind this in some form or another.  Selecting an existing vessel or station as the warp in point makes more sense for a distress call.  I can't recall if that particular way of doing it has been thought of before.  Good job.

i think it has been suggested before, i believe the devs probably already know of the idea and are thinking about it. just like all the other myriad of ideas for warpin.

I remember it being suggested before, but I don't want to bother searching for it (I'd have to find it by searching for "warp-in idea" on something - there are too many of those).  In any case, I think the general consensus then was that it's a good idea, and that seems to be true now as well, so maybe the devs will consider it.

Here, let me remake my post then:

Yep, I wouldn't mind this in some form or another.  Selecting an existing vessel or station as the warp in point makes more sense for a distress call.  No one can find the link, but everyone is certain that it's been suggested before.  Mediocre job.

There, does that make you guys happy? :P
