During a particular laggy game last night (that was set at game speed 4), it dawned on me that it would be great to have an ingame switch for game speed. Because this game I was playing in was laggy, it didn't feel like game speed 4.

So yeah, this would be for those laggy games that you just want to speed up a bit, or if you forgot tot change the game speed or whatever.

it could be annoying if people change speed without asking, unless it would require a vote.

but im not against it.

What about a special idiom that lets you speed up a fixed amount of building.

Lets say if your playing on line and the game is lagging you can go in to the relationship screen and click give/get "build bust" this can be applied with ships or stations and can be applied at any time.

I agree that it need to be confirmation for the other player to use.

When it comes to SP sure why not maybe something like a complete hold more or less a pause function but still beeing able to give orders and waypoints and constructions in comission.

For mp I wouldn't advise it.

1. it was in many games which had those features annoying if someone is changing the speed or even pause it.
2. It wont make a difference when it comes down to lags. The lags will remain and even worse if the speed is becoming higher because more data and new situations develop very fast meaning that more data about the things that are happening needs to be transferred to all and each other = more lag. In some games which had such features it even caused Desyncs which ended the game in one or another way.

This is a very poor explanation but that's what it is in a simple very spoken way.

Hmm, I'd think about DEcreasing the speed when it comes to lag. I'm not opposed to it.

You can already change game latency and pause the game, if people were going to be annoying they can already do that.

About it possibly increasing lag, I do see what you mean, but I don't think it would be feature with a negative impact.
