To the Devs,

LOVE the game, just have one small request.  Could you please reinstate a way to turn the infinite moons OFF?  It adds a whole new level of strategy to the game.  Thanks!

Welcome to the site.

I'd like non-infinate moons but the FO crew don't like them, and it's their choice. I asked before and they prefer inflexible and dull resources where none have any special value.

Indeed, welcome!
Fleet Operations is balanced according to infinite moons, as this ensures that simple turtle methods cannot win. For this reason there will most probably not be a change to the infinite moon settings any time soon  :sweatdrop:

Relax mate. There will most probably be other ways to get resources in the future :)

I was just wondering if the possibility to have finite moons could be reinstated as alternate map objects? Some maps could have interesting depth if lets say not all the moons were infinate. i could easily see a finite moon being a critical boost to resources to overcome your opponent. Especially if each player has only a set number of expansions at infinate locales.

yep, thats an idea ^-^

i can see the reason why infinite moons are on FO, what happens when you ran all the moons dry of resources and everyone has no resources to do anything? besides some races require an excessive amount of a particular resource in order to survive. i agree with the FO MOD team.

i have seen infinite resource moons loose their resource count when playing against AI's. but its few and far between, but none he less a bug.

The ability to have finite moons means some games will progress over time. At first players will go for any moon they can get to, but as moons run out, the fight will be brought to the infinte moons much more.

They were after all great focal points in stock A2.

What would be interesting is if the finite moons had a faster resource gather rate than the infinite moons

Faster mining rate is definately incentive to go and get a depletable resource. I really like that idea

map rushing huh?, get as many rocks as possible as fast as possible, decommission the stations and do it again, the the mexican shoot out begins for who has the biggest baddest stockpile :shifty:

thats the way the game is played anyway.

Having finate moons mined faster would burn through the moons resources faster, they'd be discarded much faster. You'd be forced to rush for infinates earlier and if you're one of the many less-careful spenders, your resources would be wasted faster.

sooo???
Im not saying compleatly remove the regular moons from maps, im just saying that it would be interesting to have a few moons (that are finite) that you could gather resources from quicker.

You said nothing about some moons, the first post came over more as all moons. All finate ones isn't very newb-friendly.
