a good evening to you all!
while playing with the borg i saw one major flaw: the cube has over 10000 crew, but it only transports 5 crew per second or so. how can someone use the power of a big crew?
i think the transporting speed should grow with the chassis size or the size of the crew, like 1/50 of the crew gets transpoted per second.
What do you think about this?
second idea: in the human history victory or defeat are often decided by the crew. i think the fed should have the option to upgrade their pilots, maybe in the starfleet engineering which highers the supply costs of all ships, but upgrades all ships, like highering the stats a bit.
thats all for now, i really hope to see some constructive comments^^

1. The special weapon that allows you to transport a rather large number of drones should apply to the Cube. It can send around 75 drones at once through shields (if the target has lost at least 1 crew first).
2. You mean like ranks that are applied to all ships at the time they are built?

1.i don't really understand what you mean
do you mean that theholding beam should be standard at the cube or should the beam be stronger, because the 12 drones per second by this high costs doesn't really help.. maybe it would be more efficient if the enemy couldn't attack while unde the beam, like in stock armada.
2.that would be a interesting solution but my first idea was a kind of global upgrade, which highers the initial support costs of all ships. like you decide only to use expirenced recruits(dunnu if typed right) so that the ships work better, but cost more to build..

Ships could always fight back under a Holding beam, they just couldn't move. The weapon I meant should be called 'Boarding' or something to that effect. It can be researched with the other Special weapons (I don't think it is module-based) and sends drones straight through the targets shield. Bigger ships sends more drones, with a Cube sending about 75.

I think this might get a similar reaction to an experience system for the Borg...

ah, now i understand what you mean^^
i think the boarding is is really good, maybe it could be combined with the existing boarding technonlogy
and you're right, on he second look it really is nearly the same way as the borg experience....

Yes you are indeed correct Tyler: the ability available for research from the Transmission Matrix is called Boarding.
The Assimilate Directive also gets the special ability Matrix Teleport which allows the Collective to transfer I think 150 crew from the Assimilation Matrix to any friendly ship in the sector without lowering shields.
The reason that the Borg ships cannot transport more is for balancing reasons. I mean, we saw that the Son'a could transport a lot of individuals at once (given, one way) with relatively cheap technology--but this is unbalancing in an RTS... imagine one Borg Cube taking out the entire enemy's base and fleet because it can capture any ship pretty much instantly with the large crew reserves.

it would have to bring their shields down first, so the cube couldn't just assimilate the whole army.
I just thought about it because of a lack of other technices to assimilate, which is a major part of the borg. also it would also do for other races.
maybe we could even resurect the assaultship class from stock A2?

Well, we do have the Call to Arms upgrade (Klingon) and the Dominion's troopship which both give the assault transporter special weapon to those ships

i never heard of the klingons upgrade, most likely because i don't play them much
(i mostly play borg because i'm not so extremly into micro), but i'l try them out now^^

Hehe, Martok also gains increased boarding strength and crew for all of the (I think) Imperial and Battle Yard vessels. I think Call to Arms is available to the Vut'pa... can't remember right now: it's all in the guide though
