Idea's From A Newbie

Hello, Newbie here.
Just downloaded FO three days ago, got to say. LOVE IT!!!!!

BUT, even though I know it's only a preview release, I would like to suggest some things.
Sorry if these things are gonna be in the final release:
Borg - Well I'm guessing that they're gonna be in the final release.
Proper ship/Station Size - If they already are then It doesn't seem it.
Steamrunner Class Needs Credits??? What's with that, it's not that speacial, and where are it's phasers??
Ships need more shields and weapons. Ships should last lnger in combat.
Ships should move while in battle: Have you played Bridge Commander? Ships don't stay still while attacking, they move around!
AI - They didn't seem to thing, they'd just send in as many ships as they can, each spieces should have a different AI system or something.
Cardassians - I loved fighting them!!!
And finally when ships explode they should have a big explosion that should send ships that are too close, pushed away by a explosion wave, and possibly destroy smaller ships that are heavily damaged, so that if a ship is about to die you could set the core to explode and kill of everything around.

Anyways other than that this is the best thing that's happened to Amarda II!!!!!!!

1. the borg are getting a complete redo.
2. The sizes seem fine to me, play it some more you'll get used to it.
3. The steamrunner is an artillery.....so no phasers is fine, also it's fairly powerfull and it costs nothing, that's why the credits are there.
4. And if ships had higher weapons and sheilds they would rip the already underpowered stations to shreds, besides, they'r MUCH more powerfull than in the original armada.
5. move them yourself.
6. Go against 5 of them and win, we'll talk than, couse they'r extremelly more inteligent than in stock A2
7. Cardassions i believe will be a non-player race.
8. i agree, self destruct would be nice, but ectually mooving ships with it is not possible with the armada engine i believe.

3. i think the steamrunner should be equiped with phasers as well. perhaps the same one that the newton has. not much but still something.

8. i think that with a little modding, the stock A2 repulsion wave (feck'lar :blink: ) could be modded to do that. but it will be strictly a self destruct function, not something that happens automatically after destroying a vessel equipped with it. ( as you can imagine not something the AI is gonna use often, if at all).

Some sizes will be adjusted along with the planned replacement of some models.

For example, many old Federation models are still there in 3.0 PR and will be replaced in FO 3.0.
For example a new improved and size reduced Defiant will be included in FO 3.0, at least that's how I understood some of the posts here and in the German forum.

Yes with some modding to the repulsion wave any explosions can be modded to push ships away.

yep many old models are still there which will be replaced and properly scaled during the future development.

6. Yea I must say they're alot better than the Original A2 AI.
But I really think that the ships should move around in combat, not stand still and fire.

Also when you say old models do you mean for A2 or previous versions of FO? They all look pretty good other than the fact I think some are the wrong size.

I hope you do a good job of the borg, they are my favourite race to play againts.
Also ( I know I keep going don't I) the Defiant seems alittle overpower I think.

Anyways I"m off to go play some more Fleet Operations.

Oh one more thing, I think it would be cool if the first "base" you get would be a starbase from like the Borg Incurions Mod and the rest of the "bases" you build be the outposts, that look awesome by the way.

Oh and alittle problem I seem to have, when I set the map height to the highest, it is zoomed out as usual but when I zoom in it doesn't go back to zoom out, it zooms out but only to about the 3rd closest zoom. Kinda annoying.

Ok finally I"m going to go play FO.
