Hospital Pod Nebula

Browsing a RPG site i found a starship description of the Nebula Class.
While most is standard i found one idea of a Hospital Pod to be interesting.

How would such a hospital pod be used?
I hear hospital ships are planned so the special from the Olympic Class can be used.
Since many races outside the federation have specials which reduce crew or damage/destroy life support a Hospital Pod Nebula could recrew other vessels.
I know a hospital pod is not canon, but it could be an interesting addition in my opinion.
What do you folks think.

the idea of recrewing in the field is useful for an olympic class. couple problems i have though:
crew isnt a huge issue in fleetops a lot of the time, in stock and a1 crew was like another health bar cos your redshirts died so fast. in fleetops its not often you need to recrew ships. only when facing stuff like blue beam assims.
with a buildable ship this makes sense, as you only build it when the enemy is fielding something that hurts your crew directly. but as a warpin, it isnt so good. as a recrewing thing would be highly situational and warpin is random by nature. so you'd need to be super duper lucky for a hospital warpin to come just when u need it.
maybe some other bonuses could be arranged for hospital ships. such as if a hospital ship is anywhere within transporter range, it prevents ships losing crew (or slows the crew loss per second) when life support is disabled/destroyed. also weapons that are designed to attack crew could have reduced effectiveness if a hospital ship is nearby. so blue beam would take less crew per second maybe. or boarding actions against federation ships near to hospitals could be less effective, so your crew lasts longer against boarding parties as the injured crewmembers can be healed quicker and get back to defending the ship.

I wouldn't mind a Nebula with the same ability as the Borg Incubation Centre.

Or maybe a nebulae that say, boosts repair time for subsystems, and/or helps them to not fail?

that sounds like something for a repair ship or similar. not a hospital.

As a use could be to "Cure" the effects of Domion Bio wardeads and other Crew killling bio weaponds and system damage buffering effect of those ships that are useing bio nureal gelpacks . A crew Health boost for say 6 seconds or a crew health restore/ resistance to Radiological/ bio weaponds .

I personally feel like such a ship would overpower the federation vs the borg. Much of the borg strategy revolves around the fact that other races can't recrew in the field. It hasn't been discussed up to this point but if such a ship affected derelict ships I feel it would be especially overpowered.

I like the idea of a Hospital Pod Nebula. Wasn't it notice in one episode that they use Nebula-Class in that specific way? Even some nice discussions how it could work. Hope devs take a look in this thread and offer us some of there ideas.

that's already taken into account by having repairs go slower when crew levels are not green. thats why a hospital ship would increase the crew back to green to get repairs going fast, rather than just improve the speeds.
a repair ship would have that sort of effect as engineers get beamed over with more repair experience.
