Hi there !
I'm not new to the game but im new to this community.I wanted to join way back and thank you guys for an amazing work well done , the Fleet Ops which is the BEST conversion for Armada 2 having high chances of becomming a standalone game one day too.
There are some balance issues ( the Borg are overpowered as AI ) and the Dominion ( im a Dominion player ) are kinda weak but im sure these things have been addressed already i suppose.

So my ideas are like this.

First it would be cool to implement more units and more stations for each and every race ( Borg Incursion 2 style ) if possible it would be amazing.

Then it would be great if you guys wouldnt make the supplies requirements increase the more you buy them.This meant defeat a couple of times for me because i was attacked before i could gather the right amounts of resources to buy more supplies so i can get more ships.

One of the features i love a lot is the Federation ability to call in ships through the distress call.That is so great and i love it a lot.Maybe implement sucha thing for all races?

Then another thing i loved a lot was the selection from 2 avatars or 2 different techs in the Borg case.Perhaps implementing 2 more avatars for each race? If not then please do not remove these already present avatars because i love them a lot.

Then last but not least what would you guys say about the idea of implementing Babylon 5 races?
There is that conversion but its low quality and unfinished ( neither with chances of seeing it finished as i saw ) so having them here on this new game engine and in the Fleet universe would be outstanding.

So this is about it.

Welcome to the community.

Supply costs are increasing because you are meant to be careful how you spend them, that promotes the concept. You could just build the Dominions supply mining station and not need to buy more instead, though.

Warp-In is a Federation ability, each race gets unique traits that suit the canon counterpart. Starfleet is more likely to answer a distress call than most other races, it's part of their friendly and helpful nature.

2 more avatars per race are planned. It'll take some time, though. There will eventually be 4 each.

Not sure about crossover units, though map units may work. Not as playable, though, since it is still a Star Trek game.

You know if you implement more non playable races the people will want them playable so its risky i believe but i liked the idea of having space mercenaries to hire.That would be really good.Theres also a matter of having better system specs to run the game because the game does have advanced graphics and fx and textures and so on compared to vanilla Armada 2.
I play in HD resolutions on a wide screen ( usually 1600 x 900 ) and with everything maxed out it still kinda lags me sometimes.
So when were gonna have more units on a map along with all that awesomely detailed space the game will be more demanding and less enjoyable on low spec systems.

Well why dont you consider like a mix between the Babylon 5 universe and the Star Trek one?

For instance at least the : Minbari , Vorlon , League , Narn Regime , Centauri and the Shadows are worth being entire playable races , leaving the Rangers and the Earth Alliance aside.

An alternative idea would be if you'd consider the Gorn and the Tholians.I played with them in the Academy conversion and they were pretty good ( still that mod needed more work ).

I play through Hamachi.Maybe we can find eachother like this ? If not then i can try installing Tungle again just that it was having some issues and it was crashing my games.Maybe they updated it.

Hehe, people might want Mercs to be playable, but the devs have their plan and will stick to it.  If anything, the mercenary idea was probably a solution to so many people wanting races like the cardassians, since they do consider a lot of community feedback.

The are also working on the tech side of things to continue to make the game run better and be not quite as resource intensive.  This happens in incremental phases.

This is a Star Trek universe mod, so sadly there won't be any B5 ships in it.  However, there are people working on their own mods that have B5 vessels in them, and if they are ever released, you'll be able to use that.  We don't want the Shadows, Vorlons, Whitestars, and Victory Class Destroyers 1 shotting everything in the Trek universe, do we? :blush:

I'm not sure about the Gorn or Tholians, but they might be added as mercs as well.

As far as online gaming goes, I would do everything I can do join tunngle.  If you can get it to work, then you'll basically have access to multiplayer games 24/7, which is quite impressive. ^-^

I am interested mostly in what is gonna be playable and potentially implemented as a playable race in the game.Non playable races for me could just be or not be, i dont mind them much.

Each to their own but i would like to see B5 ships shooting at ST ships and viceversa, instead.
Im not much for stuck up views.I see a lot of potential in this game and i am even willing to offer my support but for now id like more opinions on this matter.

Perhaps you'd care to venture over to the Apocrypha section in that case That provides a (relatively) up to date idea of what factions are coming to Fleet Ops  :thumbsup: . As others have said, I don't believe that the devs have any plans for non-Trek universe races, other than the occasional 'cool easter egg'  ^-^

Hehe, no stuck up views here, just repeating what the developers have said or have hinted at. :D

I actually like B5, if you can tell by my avatar pic and sig.  I hope you haven't felt put off when we repeat what the devs have stated.  Just trying to give you a sense of which direction they're going. :blush:

I understand.My appologies if ive been rude.Maybe B5 is far fetched.Im sure it has been a lot of work by now for the game as it is.I wonder when the next version is gonna be out.

Then i remain suggesting the Tholians , the Ferengi and the Gorn as playable races.To me they're pretty solid.
Hmm i've read the structure of the game and its really inspired and very well done.

In case you dont wanna include new more races than those planned is there any chance youll extend the number or ships and stations ? To be honest with you there are too few things to build.
A way to implement an advanced construction vessel for advanced structures giving access to other researches and ships would be so great.

Gonna check you guys in Tungle this week.Hope well have fun.

other races will appear as non playables, ie as npcs, u can perhaps buy one of their ships or capture it etc.

so u will get to play around with tolian ships, just not have a tholian race.

The next few patches will feature a number of new stations/ships/researches appearing for each faction :)
