Graphical Perks based on Donations

Random idea (actually stolen from League of Legends): When you donate, you receive some sort of FleetOps credit, which you can spend on unlocking in-game graphical perks. These perks do not affect the game states or play at all.
For example: I donate $30, I receive 300 FO credits, and I can "buy" a new Akira ship model. When I play and produce Akiras, they will be built using the new model (or randomly switched between the two models, or something). In multiplayer, my opponents see my cool new Akira models as well (but his/her ships are the stock model Akiras if he/she builds Akiras - unless of course, they have unlocked the same thing).

The game could probably use certificates to implement this. When one donates, the site creates a public certificate with an attribute code for the specific perk. Ideally, the site account and ones ingame account would be linked - but barring that - the site could just download the certificate into the appropriate game directory automatically (or as much as possible)

Nice idea. we actually have some similar ideas, but i dont think its a good idea to link donations to that. We don't want to sell DLCs
Donations should be done freely, to show that you like Fleet Operations and that you want to support us, not because you want a certain graphical improvement.
But the idea to have player-specific graphical content is on the table
