In case you don't know your word peices, here is a clue:

Giga = billion
hedron = sides
gigahedron = billion sided borg ship/station

Now, the way I see this, it is a billion sided ship three times the size of a cube. Yet however, due to its large mass, it can only move around at a speed of 10 (basically slower than the stock 8472 mother-ship). Now, what will this look like? It would basically be a large ship with several angles, indents, peaks (things coming outward) and so on. Now, since according to scale this would be nearly the size of a planet, I was thinking that this would have a large crew, and that it would of course only have minor weaponry (like a couple of torpedoes), yet the hull strength would of course be tremendous. To accommodate for its size the construction would have it built like the Dominion Hyper Artillery (unless 3.12 changed it). And no spw or modules. The main purpose would probably be as Boggz would say.... a road block.

how the hell is that efficient? it would look a mess and i think be very pointless. you might as well argue for including the deathstar.

also hedron means base, face or seat. not sides. a regular dodecahedron, for expample, has 12 regular pentagonal faces not sides.

Why don't you folks ever learn that any relation of mass and maximum speed is pure BULLSHIT. There is none per se. There's not even a max speed - that is invented for gameplay and has nothing to do with mass

I believe the idea of a roadblock to be fun, but please not in stock FO  :lol:

fleet ops is set in the star trek universe which enjoys 3 dimensions, both the shapes you mentioned are 2 dimensional and therefore cannot exist in fleetops. i corrected someone else in another thread about this. things ending in -gon are 2d because -gon means side. things ending in -hedron are 3d because -hedron roughly means face. this only applies to things named with those greek endings. a cube is 3d (it can also be called a hexahedron )

I would rather see a junk-yard ship that grows in combat-effectivness by destroying the enemy and pull of the debris in order to make new hull segments out of it.

So you have an ugly looking cluster of junk destroying the universe. Like a tumor, but borg.

Wouldn't a billion sided figure be a Sphere? Think about it, every single face would be so small that you wouldn't even see it and therefore it would look like a sphere which is already included in game.

Hehe, indeed, if that was meant to be highly symmetrical it would be a sphere. I'd prefer a junkyard-ship, where any material is added on the neaes siutable spot.

But if one want's a roadblock, what about a huge containment field? There could be some huge structure like a tholian web.
