I think it would be nice if the Gamma Slider for graphics had a comparison image that way we could see what effects will be in game (not too nice to keep changing it while in a multiplayer game, as it holds up the match  :sweatdrop: ) :) . Would that be possible? :)

A small box with the FO symbol in it, similar to Elite Force used to brightness? Might be helpful, but doesn't the screen already change as the slider moves?

Mine doesn't change :)

Any image really would work - a Borg vessel would be better in my opinion because that is generally what you have to adjust gamma for (as they don't stand out too well on some more darkly lit maps).

I usually had problems on my XP with the dark imagery. Here is what I suggest you do.

- Open one or more of the FO bitmaps for the admiral's log (they are usually quite dark if you do not adjust your screen input properly).
- Right click on your desktop, hit "Properties" or "Personalization" Depending on which system you are.
- If your system used "Properties", click the tab "Settings"
- Then under "Advanced" you go to the "Color" or "Color Settings" Tab
- Usually there would be a balancer with three bars "Gamma", "Brightness", and "Saturation" or "Contrast"

I'd prefer that you slide the "Gamma" slider up a few decimals (I set mine to 1.35 instead of 1.00), usually if you bring it up a bit you might be able to better see the actual ship from the background. However, if you were to do it too much, then you would get a "bleached" effect on your colors. You may have to toy around with the other sliders if you have to put it up real high to help maintain the color balance. :on2long:

If your system uses Personalization, it could be that the Color settings might be on your Graphics Card Control Panel. Or the Direct X control panel (sometimes it is under there).

Wouldn't that make the ships brighter instead of the game. Would look a little weird to me and wouldn't you have to do it for every single texture!?
